More details are starting to come out about the murder of former NFL quarterback Steve McNair and his 20-year old mistress Sahel Kazemi. According to the Associated Press, Nashville police believe that McNair was killed while he was sleeping. The evidence is leading investigators to believe that Kazemi shot McNair in the head while he slept on a couch, then shot him twice in the chest and then in the head once more. Before shooting herself, Kazemi apparently tried to position herself to fall on McNair's lap, but instead her body slid to the floor and lay at McNair's feet. The gun was found under her body.

Apparently, Faith Evans and Lil Kim still got beef over 1990s ish.  According to bossip.com, there was some major drama at Diddy’s White Party this week.

“It was really heated,” one source said. “It was about to pop off…there was crazy screaming.” According to sources, Faith was saying, “I love you” to Lil Kim and Kim responded with “God bless you.” However, later at the event, Kim asked Faith, “How would you say you love me when you trashed me in your book?” Under anonymity, a source told AllHipHop.com “We know that [Faith saying 'I love you'] is bulls**t. It wasn’t even about the movie. It hurt Kim that she was being fake.”

Mariah Carey Apologizes for MJ Memorial Performance

Michael Jackson Linked to More Drugs

Michael Jackson's dermatologist said Wednesday that he was not surprised to learn that investigators found numerous bottles of prescription drugs in the singer's home -- adding that he had warned Jackson about their danger repeatedly.

A donation page on the City of Los Angeles' Web site has crashed several times since its launch.

"I'm very shocked by it, but I have to tell you it's not something that would be unheard of," Dr. Arnold Klein said in an appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live."

Klein is the latest in a growing series of Jackson associates who have tied the singer to drugs in recent days.

Two sources close to the Jackson family told CNN on Wednesday that sister Janet was so worried after visiting the emaciated singer in 2007 that she tried to stage an intervention with assistance from her other brothers.

Jackson reportedly ordered his security guards not to let the family members in. He also refused to take calls from his mother, Katherine, CNN has learned.

"If you tried to deal with him, he would shut you out," one source told CNN. "You just wouldn't hear from him for long periods."

At the time, the Jackson family released a statement to People magazine about the alleged intervention, denying it. But Janet Jackson was not among the signatories.

Also Wednesday, a source told CNN that the Los Angeles County coroner's office has drawn up a list of doctors who treated Jackson over the years and will talk to them to determine what kind of drugs they may have been prescribed the singer in the past.

Among them: Klein and Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's cardiologist, who has already been interviewed by Los Angeles police.

McNair’s Wife Didn’t Know about Affair

An associate said Wednesday that the wife of ex-NFL quarterback Steve McNair didn't know about Sahel Kazemi before the 20-year-old woman was found dead alongside her husband on the Fourth of July.

McNair, 36, was shot four times in what the medical examiner has said is likely a murder-suicide, though police haven't confirmed that Kazemi was responsible.

Mike Mu, who has worked with McNair's charitable foundation for years, said Mechelle McNair "didn't know who this girl is."

Mechelle McNair, who has not spoken publicly since the shooting, has been described by people close to her as being very upset and distraught. Agent Bus Cook said McNair's wife was "in and out" of it in the hours after the shooting.

Sisters win the women's double title at Wimbledon!!!

Congrats to Serena Williams and her sis Venus. The sisters won the women’s doubles title at Wimbledon and Serena beat Venus to win the singles title. Serena looked nice at the Wimbledon Women’s Winners party the other night as well.

According to MediaTakeout, Takiyah, Stevie’s 27-year old daughter, was apparently having some relationship trouble.  She started acting strangely a few days ago and friends and family believe that she tried to kill herself.

Debbie Rowe, Michael Jackson's ex-wife and mother of his two oldest children ,has decided to not to attend the singer's memorial service Tuesday afternoon.
As recent as Monday, Rowe was confirmed to attend, but at the last minute, changer her mind believing, "her attendance would be an unnecessary distraction to an event that should focus exclusively on Michael's legacy," her lawyer Marta Almli.
The funeral comes at a time when Rowe's pending custody battle is a biding reality for the Jackson family. When asked if Rowe had been in contact with the Jackson family, Mark Schaffel, a former Jackson business associate, claimed she has attempted to get in touch with them, but has been unsuccessful, reports Eurweb.com.

The President Finally Speaks on Jackson

President Barack Obama had kind words to say about the late Michael Jackson, who died last week at the age of 50.

The King of Pop is getting some love from the Leader of the Free World.

During an interview with the Associated Press on Thursday, President Barack Obama revealed he was a fan of the late Michael Jackson.

He even has his songs on his iPod.

"I grew up on his music," Obama said, speaking personally about the legendary performer's death for the first time. "Still have all his stuff on my iPod."

Obama had kind words for the music legend, who died last week at the age of 50. "I think that his brilliance as a performer also was paired with a tragic and, in many ways, sad personal life," he said. "I'm glad to see that he is being remembered primarily for the great joy that he brought to a lot of people through his extraordinary gifts as an entertainer."

McNair Allegedly Told Woman He Was Leaving His Wife

The results of the autopsies Sunday, via The Tennessean:

Steve McNair was shot twice in the head and twice in the chest.

His girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, was shot in the side of the head. A semi-automatic pistol was found on the floor under her body. The police have not announced whether they think she was the victim of a homicide or committed suicide.

The Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said at a news conference this afternoon:

“While it is clear McNair’s death is a homicide, the police department is not classifying Kazemi’s death, pending further investigation and interviews with persons who knew her and McNair.

“We can’t be close-minded. All scenarios are on the table.”

Steve McNair’s Family and Friends Speak Up on His Death

In light of the recent death of former Tennessee Titan Steve McNair, his family and friends are starting to have a great deal to say. McNair was found dead with Sahel Kazemi, a 20 year old woman. Kazemi had been pulled over just 2 days earlier for a DUI while driving a Cadillac Escalade registered to both she and McNair.

Steve McNair’s best friend, Robert Gaddy:

“It was like something you might imagine seeing on TV or in the movies, but never imagine you would see it first-hand, to have that happen to someone you love. I am still shook up,’’ Gaddy said.

“When I walked in I knew it immediately (something was wrong). I didn’t have to touch him. I called 911 and told them they needed to get there. I was holding my breath and hoping it wasn’t true. I didn’t want to touch him but I saw blood on my best friend and I was almost panicking myself. It looked like he was gone and I didn’t want to believe it.’’

Steve McNair’s brother, Fred McNair:

"It's still kind of hard to believe," Fred McNair said. "He was the greatest person in the world. He gave back to the community. He loved kids and he wanted to be a role model to kids."

More McNair Craziness: Murder Suicide or Homicide?

There are stories circulating that the murder of Steve McNair may have been a murder suicide between himself and the 20 year old female who was also found dead. While his wife was reported to have been in Mississippi at the time of the shooting, there are some who are speculating on whether or not she played a role in the murders. At this point, McNair's wife has not had her alibi publicly questioned by police.

One other interesting fact about the case: The police chief didn't ask for any witnesses to come forward to identify possible suspects. This sounds like the police think they know who did it.

NFL Star Steve McNair Killed in Nashville!

Media outlets are reporting that former NFL MVP Steve McNair has been shot and killed in Nashville, TN. The incident is being reported as either a double homocide or murder suicide, depending on the outlet. McNair, 36, was found to have died from a gunshot wound to the head. McNair was the third overall draft choice by the Tennessee Titans in 1995. He led the team to one Super Bowl and was named co-MVP in 2003.

Serena Wins Wimbledon Again!

WIMBLEDON, England (AP) — Serena Williams kept telling herself she was facing just another foe in the Wimbledon final Saturday, just another woman who hits the ball quite hard, just another player trying to deny her a Grand Slam title.

She wasn't facing just anyone, of course. She was playing her older sister Venus. And when the latest all-Williams final finished, when Serena wrapped up a 7-6 (3), 6-2 victory for a third Wimbledon championship and 11th major title overall, she jogged to the net with her arm extended for a handshake.

Venus pulled her close for a warm embrace, instead.

"I didn't think about Venus at all today. I just saw her as an opponent," said Serena, who also beat her sister in the 2002 and 2003 finals at the All England Club. "At one point, after the first set, I looked on the side of the court at the stats, and it was like 'Williams,' 'Williams.' I couldn't figure out which was which."

That also might have been because she was facing the only other woman who can equal her power and court coverage on grass courts. Monday's rankings will say Serena is No. 2, and Venus No. 3 — behind No. 1 Dinara Safina, a 6-1, 6-0 loser to the elder Williams in the semifinals — but it is clear who the best woman in the world is at the moment.

Quincy Throws Michael Under the Bus... "He wanted to be white"

Quincy Jones recently did an interview where he spoke on Michael Jackson and his ever changing appearance! Read below for the folly:

Oh, we talked about it all the time. But he’d come up with, “Man, I promise you I have this disease,” and so forth, and “I have a blister on my lungs,” and all that kind of B.S. It’s hard, because Michael’s a Virgo, man—he’s very set in his ways. You can’t talk him out of it. Chemical peels and all that stuff…”He then continued on talking about the “King of Pop” saying that he wanted to be white.

“It’s ridiculous, man! Chemical peels and all of it. And I don’t understand it. But he obviously didn’t want to be Black.” When asked if that’s what he really thinks Michael’s problem was, he replied, “Well what do you think? You see his kids?” Following that he was then asked if he thought Michael was beautiful before the chemical peels to which he replied, “Man, he was the most gorgeous guy."

This coming from a man who has had multiple relations with Caucasian women... Quincy get a clue or buy one ... you've got enough money!

Michael Vick Ain’t Coming Back Anytime soon

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is leaning toward indefinitely suspending former New York Giants wide receiverPlaxico Burress(notes) and continuing to sideline quarterbackMichael Vick(notes), three sources with knowledge of the situations have indicated. Such moves would be the latest examples of Goodell’s tough stance on players embroiled in off-field issues as evidenced with the suspension of Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth(notes) earlier this month.

Stallworth has been ruled out indefinitely by the league after pleading guilty to DUI manslaughter in the death of a Miami man in March. Stallworth was sentenced to 30 days in jail, two years of house arrest and reached a financial settlement with the family of the late Mario Reyes.

According to a source with the Giants, the league and another that’s close to Vick, Goodell figures to take a similar stance with the quarterback and Burress. Vick, a former starter for the Atlanta Falcons, is scheduled to be released from federal confinement on July 20 after serving 20 months for his part in a dog-fighting ring. A source indicated there was a reasonable likelihood that Vick, suspended indefinitely by the league in August 2007, will not be allowed to play this season and certainly not be with a team in training camp.

Dr Boyce on MJ’s Kids: Don’t Go Stuntin Like Ya Daddy

"Stuntin like my daddy" was the first song on the album, "Like Father, Like Son," issued by Lil Wayne and Birdman in 2006. "Stuntin" is a hip hop term synonymous with "flossing," blinging," and "balling." It means that you've engaged in excessive spending to ensure that you have the finest of everything and are even willing to live at the edge of your means in order to present appropriate status symbols to the world. Anyone who follows hip hop knows that you should never take financial advice from a rapper. In light of the recent passing of their father, I sincerely hope that the children of Michael Jackson didn't hear the Lil Wayne song, since their daddy's financial "stuntin" before his death has left the children with a conflicted economic legacy.

On one hand, we shouldn't feel sorry for Michael Jackson's kids, at least not financially. Their father's amazing talent gives them a brand that is literally worth well over a billion dollars in future royalties and licensing fees. Michael Jackson may have died physically. But financially, he is still a viable and overwhelmingly powerful corporate entity.

Terrence Howard Doing “Pigs and Panthers”

According to Variety, actor Terrence Howard (Hustle & Flow) and Radical Media are teaming to put together a television drama about the life of undercover LAPD detective Ronald Farwell.

Titled Pigs and Panthers the film is set in the 1960s and early 1970s Los Angeles. During this time Farwell became a mole in the Black Panthers. The story is based on Farwell and his wife, a Los Angeles Sheriff's deputy, as the detective soon found himself up against both the Black Panther Party, the FBI and the LAPD

According to TMZ Michael Jackson will be laid to rest in a similar casket to that of his idol James Brown! Read below for the quote:

“A $25,000, solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated, custom casket has been ordered for Michael Jackson.” It was the same casket that was ordered for his idol James Brown.

Last Call... MJ's Final Rehearsal Video!

Here's some footage from MJ's last full dress rehearsal for his upcoming tour which was set to kick off July 8th. He looks healthy and in great shape leading many to still have serious questions concerning his death! From what I hear there will be a memorial service for MJ at the Staples Center on Tuesday at 11 AM with Tuesday with 11,000 tickets distributed to the general public.

Debbie Rowe wants her Kids and her 40 percent!

The mother of Michael's two oldest children Debbie Rowe is taking legal action to gain custody of her children. According to MJ's will his children will receive about 40 percent of the family trust left in his will! Read the details:

“I want my children,” Rowe said during a 90-minute phone conversation Thursday morning with NBCLA’s Chuck Henry. Rowe said she was willing to submit to any testing, including DNA to prove that she is the children’s true biological mother. Rowe also said she would submit to psychological testing. She also said she would seek a restraining order to keep Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, away from the children.

The agreement does allow for visitation, but Rowe said it’s a very difficult process. She said if she misses a visitation date, it is difficult to reschedule with the Jacksons. “I am stepping up,” Rowe said. “I have to.” Rowe said she was still grieving. She said she decided she had to seek custody after Jackson’s death. “We had an agreement… he didn’t keep his end,” Rowe said, referring to Jackson’s death. “It hasn’t been easy. It’s been painful.” Jackson, who died at age 50, left behind three children: son Michael Joseph Jr., known as Prince Michael, 12; daughter Paris Michael Katherine, 11; and son Prince Michael II, 7. Rowe was the mother of the two oldest children. The youngest was born to a surrogate mother, who has never been identified. Rowe said she was concerned about splitting up the children. She said she did not expect the court to grant custody of the third child, but added that she would be willing to accept custody.

Rowe, who was married to Jackson in 1996 and filed for divorce three years later, surrendered her parental rights. An appeals court later found that was done in error, and Rowe and Jackson entered an out-of-court settlement in 2006. In her testimony eight years ago, Rowe said, “I had the children for him. They wouldn’t be on this planet if it wasn’t for my love for him. I did it for him to become a father, not for me to become a mother. You earn the title ‘parent.” I have done absolutely nothing to earn that title.” Earlier this week, Jackson’s mother was appointed temporary guardian of the children, pending a hearing on Monday. A will signed by Jackson in 2002 and filed with the court Wednesday requests that Katherine Jackson be named guardian of the children, but in the event of her death, he asked that singer Diana Ross be appointed.

The will also specifically leaves Rowe out of any inheritance. “I have intentionally omitted to provide for my former wife, Deborah Jean Rowe Jackson,” the will states. Rowe’s attorney, Eric George, told the Los Angeles Times he will be at the custody hearing Monday to represent her.

Dr Boyce Lays Down Economic Advice for Rappers

Hip-Hop Wired’s Michael “Ice-Blue” Harris recently sat down with scholar Dr. Boyce Watkins. The Syracuse University Financial Professor and advocate for African-Americans obtaining education and economic empowerment and warrior against racial injustice goes in on a few topics affecting Black America in the first of many insightful interviews.

HipHopWired: As far as Hip-Hop is concerned, you’ve been one of the people who….you’re part of the Hip-Hop generation, you speak to the Hip-Hop generation without criticizing but you do point out some of the things that are wrong. What are some of the changes you think we as men need to step up and do with the music?

Boyce Watkins: We need to stop being high paid hoes and learn how to be pimps. The truth is that…I actually wrote an article about this literally three days ago. Basically I created a hypothetical conversation between a rapper, a hypothetical rapper named Cash Money and the record label. Basically, Cash Money’s going to the executive and he’s saying, “Oh I know that my last album, Booties, Hoes and Bitches did real well on the charts but I’ve been thinking that this stuff’s not positive and I want to do something more positive next time, so I’m gonna do an album called Studying, Homework and Better Grades…” or something like that. I was just being silly so the executive is basically saying, “You know that’s a great idea Cash Money, I really feel ya dawg but the thing is that Booties, Hoes and Bitches sold two million copies last time and our projections show that the people who follow you, they want more booties, extra hoes and many more bitches so we’re thinking that that would be a great album title for your next release.

Drake Speaks about BET Awards Performance

In a recent interview with Complex Magazine Drake explained the reason behind him and Lil' Wayne's performance at the BET Awards in which pre-teen and teenage girls were dancing while they sung "I Wish I Could F*** Every Girl in the World".

Complex: There were rumors of a $4 million bonus…

Drake: [Laughs] Where is it? Tell me where it is, I’ll go pick it up right now. I got some money. I got a little money. I’ll be alright for a couple months.

Complex: Damn, that’s horrible. At the BET Awards this past Sunday, everyone was shocked to see you sitting on a stool. Did you ever think to yourself, Maybe I shouldn’t perform?


Drake: That, actually—to be honest—was a terrible idea that I’ll never do to myself again. [Laughs] But I was being pressed from different areas to perform, and I think what really happened at the BET Awards is with the passing of Mike, the climate really changed, as far as the award show goes. I don’t think it called for us to perform “Every Girl” and “Always Strapped,” and I think it was an award show filled with tributes and music and these genuine heartfelt speeches. And to sort of climax out of a very tongue-in-cheek point, and then people misconstruing Wayne’s daughters and her friends coming out on stage…

Complex: Yeah, it really was an awkward moment.


Drake: Yeah, it was just timed very poorly and it definitely wasn’t planned like that, but with that being said, it is what is. I believe in Wayne and myself and it’s nothing we can’t bounce back from. To anyone who was offended, my personal apologies, it wasn’t intended to offend anybody.

Complex: Watching it at home, the BET Awards seemed to be a mess. Did it seem that way in person?


Drake: Well, I can only speak for my portion of it. I had asked for something very specific for my performance and none of those were met, as far as production value, so…

Complex: That’s BET for you…

Rihanna Needs to Stick to Her Day Job

Rihanna's venture in trying to be a tattoo artist may end up causing some trouble for her. Rumor has it that in the state of New York (where she administered the tattoos) only licensed tattoo artist are able to give tattoos, and because of this Rih Rih may be owing the city of NYC some money. The maximum fine will be $1000 for one person, but I am sure Rih Rih won't have a problem dishing that out because that is pocket change for her.

So You Want the Kids Now???

During an interview early this morning Debbie Rowe (a.k.a Michael Jackson's ex-wife) stated that she wants custody of her three children and that she is willing to take a DNA test to prove that the children are hers. In addition to this she also stated that she does not want her children to be around Michael's father Joe Jackson, which probably would be a good idea because we all know how children end up when they are raised by Joe. Now I only have one question for Debbie, "You never wanted to raise your children any other time so why do you want them now???" I think we all know what the answer is ($$$).

In other MJ news, footage from his last rehearsal, which was only 36 hours before his death has been released so click on the pic below to watch. The rehearsal took place at the Staples Center in L.A., which will also be where Michael's public memorial will be held on Tuesday July 7th. The location for the families memorial is still unknown but it is between the Staples Center and the Nokia Center, which is smaller.

And the Foolishess Begins...

The woman pictured above is Nona Paris Lola Ankhesenamun (WOW what a name) the estranged wife of the late Michael Jackson, at least that is what she claims. Nona has stated, "that all my husband's properties, monies and assets must be transferred to me immediately" and "my husband's body must be returned to the coroner's body [sic] or the mortuary immediately." She is also saying that all three of Michael's children are hers, but she needs to take a second look at those children because it is obvious that they don't have a drop of black blood running through their veins. As if these claims aren't crazy enough Nona also stated, "Though he (Michael Jackson) died to this earth he lives with my father Khailid Lucifer (Satan the Devil)." WTF!!!

I am waiting for these claims to be denied in 3,2,1.

Tat, Tat ,Tat,Tatted Up!!!

Now we all know that ever since Rih Rih became "A Good Girl Gone Bad" she has been addicted to tattoos and now she has decided to do some tattooing herself. Rih Rih was spotted in East Side Ink last night receiving tattoo lessons and she reportedly tatted some of her family and friends with little umbrellas and the letter "R". I am sure they will regret those tats later.

Another One Bites the Dust... Vibe's Last Issue

Another urban publication is dead and gone! Vibe released it's last issue and the final cover features Christina Milian and the Dream... I'm not impressed! In any event check out the details of it all below via NY Times:

Vibe, one of the nation’s leading popular music magazines, is closing immediately, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Word leaked to music and media news Web sites early this afternoon, and the spokeswoman, Tracy Nguyen, said the Vibe staff would be formally notified in a meeting at 2 p.m. She said she did not know how many people would be laid off as a result of the closure.

Vibe’s closure leaves just one large-circulation magazine, The Source, focusing on hip-hop and R&B. The Source has had its own troubles, going through a bankruptcy and emerging under new ownership last year. A rock-focused magazine, Blender, folded last year.

Editor in Chief Danyel Smith made a statement regarding the horrible news:

On behalf the VIBE CONTENT staff (the best in this business), it is with great sadness, and with heads held high, that we leave the building today. We were assigning and editing a Michael Jackson tribute issue when we got the news. It’s a tragic week in overall, but as the doors of VIBE Media Group close, on the eve of the magazine’s sixteenth anniversary, it’s a sad day for music, for hip hop in particular, and for the millions of readers and users who have loved and who continue to love the VIBE brand. We thank you, we have served you with joy, pride and excellence, and we will miss you.


I always wanted to write for Vibe so this really saddens me! I'm beginning to feel like blacks are losing their voice in print media when will it stop!

DEA Getting involved with Jackson Death

The will and the wake.

Amid the frenzy of confusing and conflicting information that has followed the death of Michael Jackson, Wednesday began with clarity on two fronts. The day ended, however, with more questions than answers.

A federal law enforcement official said Wednesday night that the Drug Enforcement Administration had joined Jackson's death investigation, once again fanning speculation that drugs may have been involved in the pop icon's passing.

Earlier in the day, the Jackson family said they would not hold a public or private viewing of his body at Neverland Ranch, as had been reported. They didn't indicate where else or when such a ceremony would be held.

And though Jackson's will, made public Wednesday, placed his entire estate in a family trust, the document that described the trust was not filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

"He was such an enigma in life, why would we expect him to be anything different in death?" said Antoni Devon, a Jackson fan who huddled with other music lovers at a makeshift memorial for the singer outside Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Boston Hip Hop Does Tribute to MJ

On June 25, 2009 music lost a revolutionary. The current stars in pop music lost their instructor. I know that there are countless dedications and tributes to the man, the music, the legend of Michael Jackson. I believe that most people are being genuine in their efforts to memorialize someone who was IT in his self created genre. The technicalities of the music industry and the new digital age will not allow another MJ to be created. The tolerance, acceptance and patience of the industry’s inner workings will not stand for it. The public will not stand in the rain and bare the 6 inches of snow to purchase a hard copy of a cd at the local record store. Obviously there are some exceptions to both scenarios with some artists, but not to the pinnacle of where MJ reached.

I am 27 and obviously just doing the math I wasn’t really able to comprehend the magnitude of his impact back then but I was aware that a star named Michael Jackson existed and was dominating music with his baby sister soon to follow.

Details of Michael Jackson's Will Revealed

The details of MJ's Final Will and Testament were released today and neither his father Joe Jackson or his ex-wife Debbie Rowe will be receiving anything from his estate. Now I am not to surprised that he didn't leave either of them anything. Debbie was his EX wife and that's just that, and we all know that MJ wasn't to fond of his father and after the way Joe has been acting since his death (ex. using his death as a way to promote his new record company) he had good reason not to be. Michael's mother Katherine Jackson is named as the beneficiary of his trust and the guardian of his children. The will also states Diana Ross as the guardian of the children if anything happens to Katherine. HMM...that's very interesting.

Side note: I will be happy when all of the controversy surrounding his life and death are over so he can REST IN PEACE!!!

Beyonce Goes MIA....

Beyonce was spotted in MIA doing what she does best, making herself available to the paparazzi while living life to the fullest! I don't know whats up with her lave front now a days, but I need her to get back on point!

Tameka Still in Denial....

Looks like Tameka is taking the meaning of denial to a whole other level. According to her Usher and herself just got it in before the ink dried on the divorce papers! Read below:

Tameka Raymond says she didn’t see it coming.

Usher’s soon to be ex-wife states in a new court filing that she and the R&B star have not been separated since July 2008 and, in fact, were “intimately together” less than a week before he started divorce proceedings.

She had “every reason to believe her marriage was intact,” her attorney stated in documents filed Monday in Atlanta.

But since it wasn’t, Tameka now wants to make sure that her estranged husband takes care of all of her legal fees pertaining to the split and continues to support his family financially, per the filing.

Usher filed for divorce June 12, checking off “irretrievably broken” as his reason to end the marriage and requesting joint custody of the couple’s two sons.

The duo swapped vows in a private civil ceremony in August 2007 and brought family and friends into the mix with a more elaborate set of “I do’s” the following month.

Usher’s divorce petition states that they were on the rocks less than a year later.

Jackson Left Father out of the Will? Who cares?

There are reports that MJ left his daddy out of the will. But then again, the negro is 80 years old, so it’s not as if he’s gonna need the money for a long time.

Mike Epps has been making fans laugh since he hit the scene in Ice Cube's comedy, 'Next Friday.'

The 38-year-old comic has worked consistently since making his Hollywood debut, with roles in films like 'Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins,' 'Dr. Doolittle 2,' 'The Fighting Temptations,' 'Guess Who' and 'Something New.'

Chris Brown’s Future: What Does it Look like?

Chris Brown is now a convicted felon.

After striking a plea agreement that keeps him from doing jail time, the popular R&B crooner must perform 180 hours of community labor, attend a domestic-abuse program and serve five years probation.

The felony assault and criminal threat charges stem from an incident between Brown and then-girlfriend Rihanna, which left the Barbados-born singer battered and bruised on the eve of the Grammy Awards in February.

It might seem as if Brown is getting a slap on the wrist, but the Virginia resident isn't quite getting off easy. The charges against the 20-year-old are felony, not misdemeanor. And though, a felon status and Brown's admission of guilt could serve to restrict some of his civil liberties, in the near future, it looks like not going to jail will keep him from having to comply with the tough parolee restrictions

MJ Requested a Heart Stopping Sedative

LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- Michael Jackson suffered from severe bouts of insomnia and pleaded for a powerful sedative despite knowing its harmful effects, a nutritionist who worked with the singer said Tuesday.

Cherilyn Lee is a holisitic health practitioner and has been in healthcare for 23 years, her Web site states.

Cherilyn Lee, a registered nurse who first met Jackson in January to treat his children for a common cold, said she rejected his requests for Diprivan and informed him of the side effects.

"I told him this medication is not safe," Lee said. "He said, 'I just want to get some sleep. You don't understand. I just want to be able to be knocked out and go to sleep.' "

"I told him -- and it is so painful that I actually felt it in my whole spirit -- 'If you take this you might not wake up.' "

CNN could not independently verify whether Lee worked with Jackson.

When asked about Lee's account, Jackson family attorney Londell McMillan said:

"I wonder why someone would make a comment about drugs when they haven't seen him take the drug or anyone who administered it."

The drug, known by its generic name Propofol, is administered intravenously as an anesthetic during surgeries. Watch nurse describe Jackson's drug request »

BET Awards: Record audience, Major Criticism

Sunday’s BET Awards, hastily transformed from a regularly scheduled presentation to a tribute to Michael Jackson three days after his unexpected death, may turn out to be the highest-rated broadcast in the 27-year history of the black  oriented cable network. Yet, the show also provoked scathing reaction from bloggers and viewers who found some elements of the show, along with host Jamie Foxx’s constant self-promotion of his album and upcoming tour, distasteful and offensive.

The live broadcast, which was hosted by Foxx, drew about 10.2 million viewers, a 61% increase over its audience last year, according to Nielsen Media Research. An estimated 10% of televisions that were on at that time were tuned in to the ceremony, which Nielsen said was an unusually high number for a cable network. The ceremony featured several salutes to Jackson by Foxx, Ne-Yo and others. Highlighting the show was the first public appearance since Jackson’s death of his sister Janet, who walked on stage near the end of the show and emotionally thanked fans for their condolences and support. She was not joined on stage by her father Joe Jackson, who was in the audience at the Shrine Auditorium.

Rihanna Wants to Stay friends with Chris

When Chris Brown pled guilty to the felony assault charges last week, the judge ordered him to six months of hard labor (i.e. community service where he actually has to work) and five years of probation. In addition, he issued a restraining order that said the hip-hop star could not go within 50 yards of former girlfriend, Rihanna, unless they are attending the same industry event, in which case it is only 10 yards.

President Obama write's a personal letter to the Jackson family

President Barack Obama has written to the family of Michael Jackson rather than making a public statement, his senior adviser said Sunday.

Appearing on the NBC program "Meet the Press," Obama adviser David Axelrod said Obama believes Jackson was "an important and magnificent performer" who made an undeniable impact on music and entertainment.

Asked why Obama had yet to speak publicly about Jackson's sudden death last week at age 50, Axelrod said: "The president has written the family and has shared his feelings with the family."
"He felt that was the appropriate way to go," Axelrod said.
